Srinagar, Dec 25 (KNO): As winter settles in following a fresh snowfall, the Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Department announced a series of upcoming promotional events and roadshows to boost tourist arrivals across the Valley.

Joint Director of Tourism, Kashmir, Wasim Raja, said that in collaboration with various stakeholders, the department will organise multiple activities and campaigns to sustain the current tourism momentum.

“Since the recent snowfall, we’ve observed a slight rise in tourist footfall, with hotels experiencing good occupancy. The response has been very encouraging,” Raja told reporters in Srinagar during the Christmas Khewa Fest, a joint celebration hosted by the Tourism Department, JKHARA, and KHBOA.

Raja further said, “Our upcoming months are packed with promotional events and roadshows across the country to maintain this flow and broaden our outreach.”

The Joint Director highlighted the importance of festivals such as Christmas, Lohri, and New Year in fostering cultural unity. “This year, both locals and visitors celebrated Christmas together, reflecting our warmth and shared joy,” he said.

Expressing his commitment, Raja said, “We are determined to keep the festive spirit alive and will work closely with all partners to ensure a steady influx of tourists through winter, spring, and summer. The media also plays a crucial role in promoting this vibrant spirit.”—(KNO)
