BUDGAM, DECEMBER 26: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam Dr. Bilal Mohi-ud-din Bhat Friday visited Khansahib to review the functioning of the Agriculture Department and assess farmer-oriented service delivery, besides inspecting key initiatives aimed at strengthening the agriculture and horticulture sectors in the area.
During the visit, the DC reviewed Implementation of various agriculture-related schemes and inspected the implementation of Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) projects in the area.
The DC, as per an official statement, directed the concerned officers that farmer-centric services should be delivered in a timely, transparent and efficient manner to ensure maximum benefit to the farming community.
During the visit, the DC handed over the keys of a farm tilling tractor to a progressive farmer of village Shoroo, Khansahib, under the HADP. The initiative is aimed at promoting farm mechanisation, reducing drudgery and enhancing agricultural productivity through modern farming practices.
On the occasion , the DC said that such interventions are expected to significantly improve operational efficiency and contribute towards enhancing farmers’ income.
The DC also inspected the functioning of the Kisan Khidmat Ghar (KKG), Khansahib, where it was stressed that all farmer-related services should be provided in a hassle-free, transparent and time-bound manner. He laid emphasis on prompt grievance redressal and effective service delivery to ensure greater outreach and satisfaction among farmers.
The DC also interacted with Krishi Udyamis, appreciating their innovative approaches and entrepreneurial initiatives in agriculture.
He encouraged them to adopt modern farming techniques, value addition, and explore market linkages to enhance productivity and income. He assured that the District Administration will provide full support, technical guidance, and subsidies to promote agri-entrepreneurship.
Later, the DC visited a High Density Apple Orchard at Khansahib, developed on a 20 kanal landholding of farmer, Abdul Gani Kothi, who has been provided 40 percent subsidy assistance for the development of the orchard.
The DC appreciated the initiative and said that its a progressive step towards adopting scientific and high-yield horticulture practices. He said that the adoption of integrated farming practices and proper orchard management techniques would further help in increasing yield, improving quality produce and enhancing overall farm income.
The DC said that District administration is extending full support for strengthening agriculture and allied sectors through focused interventions and effective implementation of government schemes.
Besides , CPO budgam , SDM Khanshaib , chief Agriculture officer budgam , Executive Engineer of all wings , tehsildar khanshaib, and other district and sectoral officers accompanied the DC during his visit .
