ADDC Shopian reviews implementation of POSH Act, stresses mandatory ICCs

SHOPIAN, DECEMBER 27: A review meeting regarding the implementation of the provisions of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 was on Saturday chaired by the Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Shopian, Dr. Nasir Ahmad Lone, at the Conference Hall of Mini Secretariat, Shopian.

During the meeting, the ADDC undertook a comprehensive review of all agenda points related to the constitution, functioning and compliance of Internal Complaints Committees (ICCs) in various government offices and establishments of the district.

He stressed the mandatory constitution of ICCs in every office/establishment employing ten or more employees, strictly in accordance with Section 4 of the POSH Act, 2013.

The ADDC emphasized the responsibility of Heads of Offices to ensure full compliance with the Act, including the display of ICC details at prominent places, proper maintenance of records as prescribed under POSH Rules, 2013, and timely submission of mandatory reports.

He also reviewed the status of offices where ICCs have been constituted and directed immediate action in cases where committees are yet to be formed.

District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO), Shopian, briefed the participants about the official POSH portal, highlighting that all ICC details, reports and related information must be uploaded on the portal within the stipulated timelines to ensure transparency and compliance.

The meeting was attended by the Additional Deputy Commissioner Shopian Dr. Zakir Hussain Faaz; Assistant Commissioner (Revenue), Shakoor Ahmad Dar, ACD, CEO, CAO, DSEO, DLO, District Programme Manager NRLM, besides other concerned officers.
