While addressing the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner, as per an official statement, emphasised the need for seamless coordination among departments and adherence to a fixed timeline to ensure that all arrangements are put in place well in advance. He stressed that collective efforts must be made to ensure the smooth conduct of the Republic Day.

The DC directed all departments to put up Tableaux during the Republic Day parade to showcase government schemes and achievements of their respective departments, with an aim to make the function more attractive and informative for the public. He also laid stress on maintaining proper protocol, particularly with regard to seating arrangements, and instructed the Police Department to ensure due respect to the National Flag and make foolproof security arrangements.

The Deputy Commissioner further directed that Republic Day celebrations be held at Sub-Divisional, Tehsil and Block levels with the same fervour and enthusiasm.

It was informed that the main Republic Day function will be held at the District Police Lines (DPL), Kupwara, where the National Flag will be hoisted and the VIP will take salute at the March Past comprising contingents of JKP, JKAP, CRPF, IRP, BSF, FPF, Home Guards, NCC cadets and school children.

The DC conducted a segment-wise review of arrangements including power supply, water, sanitation, and seating, and directed the concerned departments to ensure timely completion of these arrangements.

Other aspects reviewed included refreshments, deployment of magistrates, cultural programmes, barricading, availability of commentators, installation of DJ/Professional Sound System, hoardings, and fire tenders.

The Deputy Commissioner also instructed all officers to ensure their mandatory presence along with subordinate staff during the Republic Day functions.

The meeting was attended by SSP Kupwara Syed Tahir Al Geelani; ADDC Kupwara, ADC Kupwara, ACR, and officers from line departments, Police, CRPF and BSF.  ADC Handwara, SDM Lolab, DIO DIPR Kupwara, Tehsildars, and other concerned officers participated in the meeting virtually.
