Mega women entrepreneurship, SHG mela held in Budgam

BUDGAM, DECEMBER 30:- A day long women entrepreneurship mela was Tuesday organised by District Employment and Counselling Centre (DE&CC) Budgam  in coordination with NRLM Budgam at Govt degree College Magam.

Principal GDC Magam, Dr Tasleema graced the occasion as chief guest.The programme received a good response from the participation of hundreds of Self Help Group Members of NRLM Budgam.

At the outset, Assistant Director Employment, DE&CC Budgam, Shabnam Arif Mir, along with the Chief Guest, visited various stalls set up by SHGs and different line departments. The SHGs showcased a wide range of products reflecting their entrepreneurial skills, while stalls of line departments provided information on livelihood and self-employment schemes.

 To encourage entrepreneurship and motivate participants towards self-employment, success stories of Model SHGs were presented during the mela, highlighting inspiring journeys of women entrepreneurs from the district.

On the occasion, representatives from line departments including Animal Husbandry,  Handicraft and Handloom, Horticulture,  and Agriculture  briefed participants about various self-employment schemes and support mechanisms available to aspiring entrepreneurs.

Later,  sanction letters were given to beneficiaries under Mission YUVA  by the chief guest in presence of cluster Head and Assistant Director Employment DE&CC Budgam.
