ADC Handwara reviews Republic Day arrangements

KUPWARA, DECEMBER 31: Additional Deputy Commissioner, (ADC), Handwara, Javed Naseem Masoodi Wednesday convened a meeting of all concerned officers at Environmental Hall Handwara here, to review the arrangements for celebrations of Republic Day in the Handwara sub division.

On the occasion, the ADC stressed upon the officers to ensure elaborated and hassle free arrangements for conduct of the National event. He directed the officers to maintain proper coordination and ensure arrangements well in advance.

The ADC directed the line departments to display Tableaus during Republic Day to showcase developmental activities of their respective departments and government schemes. He said all efforts shall be made to make National functions more attractive and informative. He gave directions that Republic Day celebration functions shall be held at Tehsil headquarters and block headquarters with the same fervour and enthusiasm.

It was given out in the meeting that the main venue of Republic Day celebration shall be held at District Police lines (DPL) Kulangam Handwara for the Sub-Division, where the National flag will be hoisted and the VIP will take salute on the March past.

Entrusting the responsibilities for smooth conduct of the event, the ADC asked R&B department, Machanical Engineering and Municipality Handwara to ensure proper sanitation and cleanliness of the DPL ground and Town area. They were also directed to keep mainpower available in case of snowfall on the day of rehearsal as well as main function Day.

The R&B department was directed to make seating arrangements for the function. The decoration will be done by the Floriculture department.

Meanwhile, arrangements including availability of doctors, first aid, Ambulance, security, public Address system, media coverage, etc. were also reviewed and accordingly appropriate directions were passed to the concerned officers.

The meeting was attended by ASP Handwara and all officers of line departments.
