Republic Day: LG to preside, take salute at main function

Jammu, Jan 08: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha will preside over and take the salute at the main Republic Day function of 2026 at Maulana Azad Stadium, Jammu.

In a circular, a copy of which is in possession of the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the General Administration Department stated that the main Republic Day function of 2026 will be held at Maulana Azad Stadium, Jammu, where the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor will preside and take the salute.

The government has directed all officers and officials stationed in Jammu to attend the function as part of their official duty.

“All officers and officials of the Government and Public Sector Undertakings stationed in Jammu are required to attend the function as part of their official duty. All Heads of Departments and Chief Executives of Public Sector Undertakings shall ensure their own participation as well as that of their subordinate employees in the function,” the circular reads. (KNO)
