Kashmir records 83% pass percentage, 87% in Jammu
Srinagar, Jan 14: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) Wednesday announced annual regular results of 12th standard with at least 84 percent qualifying the exams.
JKBOSE officials informed the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that 84 percent students qualify the exams.
The board official also said that the pass percentage of girls is 86 percent and 82 percent among the male students.
JKBOSE earlier in the morning has announced that 85 percent of students have qualified the annual regular exams of 10th standard.
BOSE said that a total of 70,735 candidates were enrolled for the exams out of which 59,435 successfully qualified it.
In the exams, a total of 33,549 students have registered distinctions, 21,889 secured first divisions, 3963 bagged second division and 34 candidates registered third division.
BOSE further said that in the examination, 312 students couldn’t qualify the exams while 10,988 have been asked to reappear in the exams.
Pertinently, BOSE had announced syllabus relaxation of 15 percent for 10th, 11th and 12th standard examination.
Director Academics of BOSE in a notification said that the decision was taken upon the recommendations received from the DSEK and DSEJ and pleas received from other stakeholders regarding reduction in syllabus due to delayed commencement of academic session this year coupled with disruptions in academic calendar due to heat wave, torrential rains, cloudbursts and floods.
“As approved by the competent authority, it is notified that the prospective eligible students appearing in class 10th, 11th and 12th in the ensuing annual regular, 2025 examination in Kashmir Division and winter zone areas of Jammu Division including UT of Ladakh, shall attempt 85 percent marks which will correspond to 100 percent marks, availing thus 15 percent relaxation in syllabus,” reads the notification.
Toppers
Among the top performers of four streams, two students are from government schools and two from private schools respectively.
Science
From the Faculity of science, Hafsa of Kashmir Harvard Higher Secondary School Habak has secured 500 marks followed By Aidah Nasti, of Islamia Hanifa Institute Lal Chowk Anantnag with 499 Marks, Asra of Govt Girls Hr Sec School Kothi Bagh Srinagar with 499 Marks, Athar Aijaz Shah of Candid Higher Secondary School Nowgam Srinagar with 499 marks and Azka Rafiq Bhat of Govt Hr Sec School Chanapora with 499 marks.
Commerce
Similarly, from the Facility Of Commerce, Sauliha Nabi Wani of Harvard Higher Secondary School Habak Naseem Bagh Srinagar has secured 498 marks followed by Huran Gulzar of RP School Malabagh Srinagar with 497, Maryam Ashraf of Govt Girls Hr Sec School Nawakadal Srinagar with 497 marks, Muneeza Hakeem of Govt Girls Hr Sec School Zadibal Srinagar with 497 marks and Areeba Iqbal Gunjoo of Green Valley Educational Institute Ellahibagh Srinagar with 496 Marks.
Arts
Likewise, from the Faculity Of Arts, Tabin Reyaz of Govt Hr Sec School Mattan has secured 500 marks followed by Iqra Hussain of Govt Girls Hr Sec School Langate with 499 marks, Aaliya Altaf of Womens Educational Institute Banat Lalbazar Srinagar with 498 marks, Ambreen Mushtaq of Govt Girls Hr Sec School Soura Srinagar with 498 marks and Haiyrah of Green Valley Educational Institute Ellahibagh Srinagar with 498 marks as well.
Home Science
From the Faculity of Home Science, Adiba Yaqoob of Govt Girls Hr Sec School Kothi Bagh Srinagar has secured 483 marks followed by Iman Taqween of Govt Girls Hr Sec School Kothi Bagh Srinagar with
