Tribal Affairs Minister lauds meritorious achievers
JAMMU, JANUARY 15: The students residing in various Gujjar-Bakerwal (G&B) Hostels across the Winter Zone have registered an outstanding performance in the recently declared Jammu & Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) Class 10th and 12th examination results, reflecting their dedication, perseverance and the enabling academic atmosphere being provided in the hostels.
As per the consolidated result details, 147 students appeared in the Class 10th examinations, of which, 136 students passed, achieving an overall pass percentage of 92%, with 30 students securing distinctions.
Several hostels, including G&B Hostel Budgam, Boys Hostel Pulwama, Girls Hostel Srinagar, Boys Hostel Kupwara, Kishtwar (Chatroo) and Doda, have recorded a 100% pass percentage, underscoring remarkable academic consistency.
The Class 12th results, as per an official statement, were equally encouraging. Out of 94 students who appeared, 83 students qualified successfully, registering an overall pass percentage of 88.29%, with 38 distinction holders.
A number of hostels including Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian, Bandipora, Girls Hostel Srinagar and Kupwara have achieved a 100% success rate, with Girls Hostel Srinagar alone contributing 16 distinction holders.
J&K Tribal Affairs Minister Javed Ahmed Rana has congratulated all the successful students particularly those belonging to the tribal communities for their excellent performance. He lauded the committed efforts of the Hostel Wardens and staff, whose guidance and mentoring played a vital role in these achievements.
He said the results reflect the effectiveness of welfare initiatives aimed at uplifting educational standards among the tribal students.
The Minister conveyed special congratulations and best wishes to Saira Noor of G&B Girls Hostel, Srinagar, who secured an exceptional 99.20% marks and bagged outstanding position in the JKBOSE Class 10th examination.
Rana described her achievement as a source of inspiration for the entire Gujjar-Bakerwal community, especially for young girls aspiring to excel in academics.
Reaffirming Omar Abdullah Government’s commitment, the Minister stated that focused efforts will continue to strengthen the hostel facilities and educational support systems to ensure holistic development and brighter futures for tribal students.
