Srinagar, Jan 15: Continuing its drive against the drug menace, Jammu and Kashmir Police in Pulwama arrested a drug peddler during Naka checking at Circular Road near Tahab Chowk.

According to a statemen, during Naka checking, the Naka party intercepted one person identified as Bilal Ahmad Ganaie, son of Bashir Ahmad Ganaie, resident of Chatapora. Upon thorough search, contraband substances including cannabis (Charas Choora-like substance) weighing 413.50 grams, Charas (01 stick) weighing 36.5 grams, Charas powder weighing 70 grams was recovered from his possession.

Accordingly, a case FIR No. 08/2026 under section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at the concerned Police Station and investigation has been taken up.

J&K Police remain committed to its mission of eradicating the menace of drugs from society and urge the general public to cooperate and share information to help in building a drug-free Pulwama, the statement reads—(KNO)
