BJP committed to keep J&K united: Chugh

Jammu, Jan 24: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s National General Secretary and J&K in-charge Tarun Chugh on Saturday said that party is committed to keep Jammu and Kashmir united.

Addressing a workshop here, Chugh said, “Under no circumstances will Jammu and Kashmir ever be separated and the party’s top leadership is firmly committed to the unity and integrity of the Union Territory.”

Chugh said, “BJP considers Jammu and Kashmir as one entity and one soul and the party’s central leadership stands by this as an unbreakable commitment.”

“Jammu and Kashmir is one unit, one entity, one soul,” he said.

Chugh said, “The party remains committed to ensuring equal development of both regions while working to reclaim the areas of Jammu and Kashmir that are under Pakistan’s illegal occupation.”

“The BJP’s top leadership is committed to the fact that Jammu and Kashmir is a single entity. We have to reclaim the part of Jammu and Kashmir that Pakistan has forcibly occupied. It’s our commitment to develop both regions equally,” he said.

Chugh said, “The previous governments led by the Abdullah family was dividing people and discriminating between regions for political benefit. Whenever the government led by National Conference comes to power in Jammu and Kashmir, they try to discriminate on the basis of region. We are committed to the development of a united Jammu and Kashmir.”

Responding to a query on the upcoming budget session, Chugh called the Omar Abdullah government “completely incompetent, negligent and full of broken promises,” he added.

“Omar Abdullah’s government is entirely unsuccessful. A government of broken promises. The commitments made to the people have been completely forgotten. Neither does he remember the people nor the promises made to them. Blaming others for his own failures has become his habit,” Chugh said—(KNO)
