SRINAGAR, FEBRUARY 13: Director, Sheep Husbandry Department (SHD), Kashmir, Dr.Rafiq Ahmad Shah,  Friday chaired a review meeting at the Directorate, Lal Mandi, Srinagar, to assess the progress of expenditure and implementation of schemes under the UT CAPEX Budget, HADP, CSS, NABARD, and other ongoing programmes for the financial year 2025–26.

During the meeting, item-wise expenditure, physical and financial achievements, and the status of works being executed across districts were reviewed. Key initiatives, including the Elite Sheep Mission and the Animal Identification Project, were discussed, along with infrastructure gaps in departmental hospitals and reasons for low expenditure wherever observed.

Dr. Shah directed all concerned officers to expedite works, ensure timely utilization of funds, and achieve targets within the stipulated timelines. He emphasized the importance of close monitoring and accountability to ensure effective implementation of all schemes.

The Directorate remains committed to enhancing sheep husbandry services and infrastructure across the region, ensuring that all schemes benefit farmers and stakeholders effectively.
