GOC 16 Corps reviews security in Rajouri sector

Jammu, Feb 17: Top Army Commander on Tuesday visited the general areas of Potha and Thanamandi to undertake a comprehensive review of the prevailing security environment in the border district of Rajouri.

According to the details, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the White Knight Corps (16 Corps), Lieutenant General P K Mishra, accompanied by the GOC Counter Insurgency Force (CIF) Romeo, assessed the ground situation and was briefed on the latest operational developments and counter-infiltration measures being undertaken in the region. He interacted with commanders at various levels and reviewed the operational preparedness of units deployed in the area.

The GOC evaluated the coordination mechanisms among security forces and examined the effectiveness of area domination patrols and surveillance grids aimed at maintaining peace and stability in the sensitive sector.

Commending the troops for their professionalism and high morale, Lieutenant General Mishra emphasized the need for sustained vigilance and seamless synergy among all stakeholders to counter emerging security challenges. He reiterated the Army’s commitment to ensuring a secure environment for the local population.

The GOC CIF Romeo highlighted the formation’s operational focus and readiness posture, underlining its guiding ethos of unwavering vigilance and absolute readiness to maintain dominance on the ground and secure lasting peace in the region—(KNO)
