KUPWARA, FEBRUARY 20: Deputy Commissioner/Chairman District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) Kupwara, Shrikant Suse, chaired a review meeting to assess the functioning of Incident Response System (IRS).

Detailed discussions held regarding role and responsibilities of different components of IRS including Planning, Logistics, Operation sections, resources mapping as well as functioning of Emergency Operation Centre and Incident Response Teams (IRT).

The IRS, developed by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), provides a standardized disaster response framework. During the meeting, as per an official statement, it was informed that Incident Response Teams have been notified at District, Sub-Division and Tehsil/Block levels by DDMA.

Stressing the need for preparedness, the Chairman called for the conduct of regular mock drills across the district to strengthen coordination among departments and ensure a robust disaster response mechanism.

The meeting was attended by ADC Kupwara, SE R&B, ASP Kupwara, ACR, Dy. SP DAR Handwara, CPO, CMO, BDO Hq. AO and other concerned officers.
