FCS&CA Samba hosts public welfare awareness camp

Samba, Feb 21: The Department of Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Samba on Saturday organised an awareness camp in collaboration with various stakeholders, civil society representatives and line departments. The programme witnessed active participation from different sections of society.

 

The participants were sensitised about the importance of awareness regarding various government welfare schemes and the need for community-level outreach, followed by informative sessions by resource persons Dr. Nahida Chowdhary, Senior Resident, Department of Community Medicine, GMC Jammu and Dr. Sakshi Manhas, Senior Resident, Department of Community Medicine, GMC Jammu, who highlighted the growing health concerns, particularly the rising incidence of cancer and emphasised the importance of early detection and preventive measures.

 

Speaking on the occasion, the Assistant Director, FCS&CA Samba, Rahul Gupta said that under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Samba, Ayushi Sudan, the department remains committed not only to ensuring food security through flagship schemes but also to foster inter-departmental convergence so that beneficiaries are well-informed about various government initiatives and welfare programmes.
