DGP calls for focused action against terror ecosystem

Reviews security scenario in Police District Sopore

Srinagar, Feb 24: Director General of Police (DGP), J&K, Nalin Prabhat on Tuesday visited Police District Sopore and chaired a comprehensive security review meeting to assess the prevailing security scenario and operational preparedness in the district.

The DGP was accompanied by SDG Coordination S.J.M. Geelani, IGP Kashmir V.K. Birdi, and DIG North Kashmir Range Maqsood-ul-Zaman.

During the meeting, SSP Sopore Iftkhar Talib–JKPS presented a detailed briefing on the current security environment, counter-terror measures, anti-narcotics operations, and overall law and order management in the district.

The DGP reviewed operational strategies, intelligence grid, area domination plans, and measures being undertaken to dismantle the terror ecosystem, a police spokesperson said in a statement issued here.

Addressing the officers, the DGP stressed the need for focused and sustained action against elements supporting terrorism and directed decisive and uncompromising kinetic operations against Pakistani terrorists. He emphasised strengthening intelligence generation, maintaining operational momentum, and ensuring close coordination among all security agencies.

The meeting was attended by SSP Sopore, Additional SP Sopore, all SDPOs, DySP Ops, SHOs, and DOs of Police District Sopore.

The DGP appreciated the efforts of Sopore Police and urged officers to remain vigilant, proactive, and committed to ensuring peace, stability, and security in the district.
