Srinagar, Mar 02: The authorities have decided to continue precautionary restrictions across all districts of Kashmir on Tuesday to maintain peace and prevent any untoward incidents, officials said.

A senior security official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the decision has been taken in view of the prevailing situation and to ensure that law and order is maintained across the Valley.

“Restrictions will continue tomorrow as a precautionary measure.  The situation is being closely monitored and necessary measures are in place to maintain peace,” a senior official said.

He said that security forces are manning the sensitive locations, while senior officers are reviewing the ground situation to prevent any escalation.

Meanwhile, people took out processions–to mourn assassination of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei– in several parts of Kashmir on Monday. “The situation remained under control and security personnel were deployed to ensure peace and prevent any untoward incidents,” the officials added.
