DC Kupwara inaugurates solar-powered public Library in Trehgam

KUPWARA, MARCH 4: In a landmark step towards youth empowerment, Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Shrikant Suse, Wednesday inaugurated the solar-powered public Library and Reading Room at Trehgam

The inauguration, as per an official statement, ceremony was attended by ACR, CPO, BDO Trehgam and Tehsildar Trehgam.

Developed in record time by the Block Development Office Trehgam, the facility is envisioned as a hub of learning, career guidance for students and competitive exam aspirants of Trehgam.  The library, powered entirely by solar energy, ensures year-round facility with modern heating and cooling system, furniture as well as CCTVs.

The facility will offer high-speed Wi-Fi, All-in-One PCs and premium digital learning platforms and also has offline collection of more than 300 books.

Block Library will also serve as a career guidance and counselling hub, helping youth for higher education, skill development, and employment. Locals have hailed the initiative as a transformative step in youth empowerment.

DC Kupwara congratulated youths on the occasion and appreciated efforts undertaken by RDD as well as civil society members of Trehgam.He also directed concerned officers to fulfil further requirements projected by students.
