Lauds troops for foiling infiltration bid

Jammu, Mar 18: Northern Command Army Commander Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma visited the Jhangar Battalion in Poonch and reviewed the security situation and operational preparedness in the sector following the successful conduct of Operation Balliyan.

Army’s Jammu based spokesperson, while sharing the details wrote on X:  “The Army Commander’s visit came in the wake of a successful anti-infiltration operation in which alert troops foiled an infiltration attempt.”

“Lt Gen Pratik Sharma, Army Cdr NC, visited Jhangar Battalion on successful conduct of OPBALLIYAN wherein the alert troops successfully eliminated the infiltration attempt,” the Corps said.

“During the visit, the Army Commander interacted with troops on the ground and assessed the prevailing security situation and readiness levels in the area,” he wrote, adding, “While reviewing the security situation, operational preparedness and interaction with all ranks, the Army Commander commended them for professionalism and resolute commitment towards ensuring peace and stability in the region,” he added—(KNO)
