Emphasses timely completion of projects with quality & safety standards

SRINAGAR MARCH 24: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Akshay Labroo Tuesday undertook a visit to Zewan area of District to oversee the progress of ongoing works being executed on construction of Migrant Transit Accommodation for PM Package employees at Zewan, Srinagar.

He also inspected construction works on the new Revenue Complex for housing Tehsil Office Panthachowk.

During the visit, the DC, as per an official statement, was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mir Imtiyaz Ul Aziz, Chief Planning Officer, Fayaz Ahmad Dar, Superintending Engineer R&B, Tatheer Manzoor, SE PDD, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Umar Gulzar, SDPO Panthachowk, Executive Engineer R&B, Executive Engineer PDD, Executive Engineer PHE, Tehsildar Panthachowk, Chief Sanitation Officer and other concerned Officers.

While reviewing the progress of works at Migrant Transit Accommodation Zewan, the Deputy Commissioner took a round of the various under construction Blocks and completed Blocks of the project. He was apprised that the work on the project for construction of 39 accommodation blocks comprising 936 flats is going on in full swing and as on date 26 Blocks comprising 624 flats stands ready.

He was further informed that out of the remaining 13 accommodation Blocks 6 blocks are also ready while remaining 7 accommodation blocks will be completed by April, 2026.

The Deputy Commissioner was further apprised that the boundary wall and approach road for the project are nearing completion, while macadamization works are set to commence in the first week of April.

The DC was informed that the process of installation of electricity transformers (DTs) has been completed and power related setup will be in place within a week. While water supply facilities have already been made functional at the transit accomodation facility.

On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized timely completion of the prestigious project which is being monitored at the higher level. He directed the concerned Officers and executing agencies to expedite the pace of internal finishing and allied works while ensuring strict adherence to quality and safety standards. He was informed that the installation of lifts has begun in the blocks of Transit Accommodation.

 The DC  instructed that installation of lifts in accommodation blocks be completed swiftly in a time bound manner. The DC directed concerned Departments and executing agencies to work in a coordinated approach to expedite the accommodation project in committed timelines.

Later, the Deputy Commissioner visited Panthachowk to inspect the ongoing construction of the new Tehsil Office complex being executed by the R&B Department. He was informed that approximately 80 percent of the work on new Tehsil Office building comprising Tehsildars Court Room, Naib Tehsildar Office, Establishment section, Record Room and Waiting area for visitors stands completed.

On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner directed the executing agency to further accelerate the pace of work to ensure completion of the project by April 2026. He stated that the new facility will significantly enhance the delivery of revenue services to the public and provide an improved working environment for the staff.

The Deputy Commissioner stressed the importance of coordinated efforts among all departments to ensure that both projects are completed within the stipulated timelines.
