Jammu, Mar 23: Army’s Northern Commander Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma on Monday appreciated the sustained efforts of troops in maintaining peace in Jammu and Kashmir.

According to the details, Lieutenant General Sharma on Monday visited Kishtwar district and lauded the troops for their professionalism. He asked them to maintain sustained momentum to ensure lasting peace and stability in the region.

In a post on X, the Northern Command said the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Lt Gen Sharma, visited Kishtwar sector to review operational preparedness and security grid. He had detailed deliberations with commanders in chains and interaction with troops.

“He appreciated their sustained efforts, professionalism and resolute conduct of operations in challenging terrain and inclement weather conditions exhorting them to maintain the momentum and seamless coordination with sister security agencies to ensure continued peace and stability in the region,” the post said.

It may be recalled that Pakistan-based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) suffered a major blow in Kishtwar district as the Army eliminated seven of its highly trained terrorists in a year-long operation in challenging high-altitude areas, with the last three, including most-wanted commander Saifullah, killed on February 22—(KNO)
