Viksit Bharat youth parliament UT round held at J&K Assembly

Jammu, Mar 24: Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat) J&K, under the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports successfully hosted the Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament UT Round at the J&K Legislative Assembly. This prestigious event brought together young minds to discuss and shape the nation’s future.

 

The event brought together winners of the district round to discuss the theme “Union Budget 2026: Strengthening the Indian Youth’s Path Towards Viksit Bharat 2047”.

 

The event was chaired by Javed Rana, Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest and Tribal Affairs, J&K, who emphasized the importance of youth engagement in nation-building. “The youth of J&K are the architects of a developed India. Their ideas and perspectives are crucial in shaping the country’s future,” he said.

 

A distinguished jury comprising Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal (MLA Ramgarh), Sunaina Mehta (Principal, Revenue Training Institute, Jammu), Prof Mushtaq Ahmad Wani (Former member of JKPSC and HOD Geography, Amar Singh College, Srinagar), Prof Tariq Ahmad Shah (Ex Prof and Head, Plant Pathology, SKUAST Srinagar), and Simranjeet Singh (Reputed Journalist and Writer) evaluated the participants’ performances.

 

Dignitaries present included Majoj Kumar Pandita Secretary J&K Legislative Assembly, Nisar Ahmad Butt, State Director MY Bharat J&K, Nitin, Deputy Director MY Bharat Rajouri, Khushal Gupta, Deputy Director MY Bharat Jammu, and Dr Gurpreet Kour, Program Officer NSS GCW Parade.

 

The participants presented their views on the Union Budget 2026 and its impact on India’s development trajectory.

 

Amit Katoch was adjudged the winner while Hemanya Puri and Bhavna Sharma secured second and third place respectively. The winners will now participate in the National Round of Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament, showcasing their skills on a broader platform.

 

The event aimed to empower the youth, encourage their participation in nation-building and provide a platform for them to share ideas and contribute to India’s development journey.
