Jammu, Mar 27: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs on Friday staged a protest inside the Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly, demanding the establishment of a National Law University (NLU) in Jammu.
As the budget session resumed today, all BJP MLAs stood up and pressed for the setting up of an NLU in Jammu.
Carrying placards and raising slogans of “NLU for Jammu,” the BJP legislators disrupted proceedings of the House before staging a walkout.
Talking to reporters, BJP MLA Sham Lal Sharma said they wanted an assurance from the Government that an NLU would also be set up in Jammu.
He added that the Government should provide a break-up of the 24000 government jobs outsourced. “We also want an assurance that the Government will not outsource jobs from now onwards,” he said—(KNO)
