Police arrest drug peddler in Pulwama

Srinagar, Apr 03: As a part of its sustained efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from society, J&K Police in Pulwama arrested a drug peddler and recovered Contraband substance from his possession.

According to a statement, a police party from Police Station Pulwama at a checkpoint established at Eid Gah area of Pulwama intercepted a suspicious person. During his personal search, approximately 52 grams of charas-like substance was recovered from his possession. He has been identified Anayatullah Makdoomi son of Showkat Ahmad resident of Drasoo. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 46/2026 under relevant section of law has been registered at Police Station Pulwama and investigation has been taken up.

J&K Police reiterate its commitment to maintaining a drug-free society and appeals to the general public to cooperate in this noble mission. Citizens are requested to share any information regarding drug abuse or peddling to the nearest police establishment—(KNO)
