DC Anantnag visits Yatra Transit Camps

ANANTNAG, APRIL 07: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, (Yatra Officer Pahalgam Axis), Dr. Bilal Mohiud Din Bhat Tuesday made an extensive tour to Yatra Transit Camps, FCI Godown, Mir Bazaar and Walnut Factory, Qazigund and took first hand stock of arrangements and facilities, to be made available to the pilgrims during SANJY-2026.

On the occasion, the DC, as per an official statement, directed the concerned officers to provide all necessary facilities to the pilgrims in a smooth and seamless manner, ensuring an enriching experience for them. He called for provision of good quality toilets in requisite numbers and parking areas with proper lighting facilities at all places.

To ensure proper drainage of water, the DC asked the concerned officers to install an efficient drainage system besides repairing the paths.

Dr. Bilal further directed officers of line departments to augment the services and ensure every facility committed will be provided to the pilgrims. He emphasized that proper supply of water be provided to the langars and toilets along with drinking water for the Yatris. Instructions were issued to the concerned departments to ensure ininterrupted supply of electricity besides proper cleanliness, sanitation and hygiene of the transit camps.

The DC was accompanied by ADC, SDM Dooru, Tehsildars Anantnag and Qazigund and other concerned officers.

Later, the DC made a site visit to Khanabal bridge and interacted with the locals who put forth their grievances regarding traffic congestion and construction of it’s additional part.

 The DC issued on spot directions to Engineer Engineer R&B to resolve the issues in coordination with ACR and submit a revised DPR so the work on the additional part is taken up at the earliest possibility.
