Jammu, Apr 13: Several legislators, delegations and individuals today called on Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana, here at Civil Secretariat, to apprise him of a wide range of public and sector-specific issues.

Among those who met the Minister were legislators R. S. Pathania and Khurshied Ahmed. A delegation of Water Testing Laboratory employees, representatives of the JJM Contractors Association and other individuals raised their issues.

During the interactions, the visiting legislators and delegations highlighted a range of pressing concerns, particularly those related to drinking water supply schemes, forest management issues and other matters of public importance affecting local communities.

The delegation of Water Testing Laboratory employees drew the Minister’s attention to their demand for enhancement of honorarium.

Meanwhile, representatives of the JJM Contractors Association raised the issue of delays in the release of payments for works executed under various water supply projects.

The Minister gave a patient hearing to all the delegations and individuals, acknowledging the significance of the issues raised.

He assured them that their genuine concerns would be addressed on priority and issued on-the-spot directions to the concerned authorities for their prompt and time-bound resolution.
