{"id":10525,"date":"2026-01-26T19:58:40","date_gmt":"2026-01-26T19:58:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kashmirthunder.in\/?p=10525"},"modified":"2026-01-26T19:58:40","modified_gmt":"2026-01-26T19:58:40","slug":"tricolour-flies-high-at-ghanta-ghar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kashmirthunder.in\/index.php\/2026\/01\/26\/tricolour-flies-high-at-ghanta-ghar\/","title":{"rendered":"Tricolour flies high at Ghanta Ghar"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Srinagar, Jan 26: <\/strong>The Ghanta Ghar (Clock Tower) at Lal Chowk turned into a vibrant portrait of patriotism and celebration on Monday as scores of people, both locals and tourists, gathered to mark the 77th Republic Day in Srinagar.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The tricolour fluttered high, and the atmosphere around the city\u2019s most recognisable landmark was filled with patriotic songs, cheers and laughter.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Clock Tower was surrounded by crowds taking selfies, waving flags and capturing the moment on their phones, as a sign, many said, of a changing Kashmir.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Among those who drew attention was Aarun from Gujarat, his body painted in saffron, white and green.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Carrying a large national flag and \u201ca miniature model of the BrahMos missile\u201d, he recalled visiting Kashmir every Republic Day since 2022.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI come here every year to celebrate with my Kashmiri brothers and sisters,\u201d Aarun told the news agency\u2014Kashmir News Observer (KNO). \u201cThe feeling of hoisting the Tricolour at Lal Chowk is something special. It is about peace and togetherness.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Several tourists also joined him in expressing admiration for the city\u2019s spirit. Ritika Sharma, a visitor from Delhi, said the experience was heartwarming.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI had only seen Lal Chowk in news reports, but today I saw people smiling, singing, and celebrating together.
