{"id":11231,"date":"2026-02-03T18:59:39","date_gmt":"2026-02-03T18:59:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kashmirthunder.in\/?p=11231"},"modified":"2026-02-03T18:59:39","modified_gmt":"2026-02-03T18:59:39","slug":"govt-rules-out-proposal-to-extend-e-bus-service-to-tral","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kashmirthunder.in\/index.php\/2026\/02\/03\/govt-rules-out-proposal-to-extend-e-bus-service-to-tral\/","title":{"rendered":"Govt rules out proposal to extend e-bus service to Tral"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Srinagar, Feb 03:\u00a0<\/strong>The Jammu and Kashmir Government has said there is no proposal to extend the Smart City e-bus service to Tral in South Kashmir\u2019s Pulwama district as the area falls outside the limits of the Srinagar Metropolitan Region (SMR).<\/p>\n<p>According to a written reply to a question by MLA Rafiq Ahmad Naik, tabled in the Legislative Assembly by the Transport Department, the government said that the Smart City e-bus service operates strictly under the operational guidelines of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA). \u201cE-bus service is being operated within the Srinagar Metropolitan Region (SMR). Tral constituency falls out of SMR limits,\u201d the reply reads.<\/p>\n<p>The department also clarified that there is \u201cno proposal under consideration\u201d to introduce Smart e-Bus connectivity from Tral to Srinagar via Nowdal, Dadsara, or Awantipora at present. It further informed that \u201cno Smart e-buses are currently operational in South Kashmir.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Supplementary details provided by the department show that Srinagar Smart City Limited (SSCL) is presently operating 98 e-buses on various city routes.<\/p>\n<p>These include prominent routes such as Parimpora\u2013Marindar Bagh (7 buses), TRC\u2013Nasrullah Pora (4), Jehangir Chowk\u2013Hazratbal (6), Chadoora\u2013Batamaloo (2), Batamaloo\u2013Gund Mahnoor (5) and TRC\u2013Budgam Railway Station (4).<\/p>\n<p>Other operational routes include Batamaloo to Shalbugh and Qamaria Park Ganderbal, TRC to Kanipora, and Tourist Reception Centre to Women\u2019s College Batpora, among others<strong>\u2014(KNO)<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Srinagar, Feb 03:\u00a0The Jammu and Kashmir Government has said there is no proposal to extend the Smart City e-bus service to Tral in South Kashmir\u2019s Pulwama district as the area falls outside the limits of the Srinagar Metropolitan Region (SMR).
