Jammu, Feb 22: Three terrorists affiliated with Pakistan based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) were killed in an encounter with the security forces in the ongoing \u2018Operation Trashi-I\u2019 in Kishtwar on Sunday.<\/p>\n
An official told the news agency \u2013 Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the two terrorists were killed during the \u2018Trashi-I\u2019 operation in the general area of Passerkut in Chatroo belt. Security forces also recovered arms and ammunition that included two AK-47 rifles from them.<\/p>\n
\u201cPursuant to credible intelligence inputs collated from J-K Police, IB (Intelligence Bureau) and own intelligence sources, a joint operation was launched in the Kishtwar region under operation Trashi-I to track and neutralise terrorists operating in the area. Following successful contact established earlier, troops of CIF (Counter-Intelligence Force) Delta, in close coordination with police and CRPF, re-engaged the terrorists today at approximately 11 am in challenging terrain,\u201d the Army\u2019s White Knight Corps said in a post on X.<\/p>\n
“Displaying tactical precision, seamless synergy and resolute aggression, the troops dominated the encounter site wherein two terrorists were successfully neutralised,” the Army said.<\/p>\n
In another post on X, Army\u2019s White Knight Corps wrote that the third terrorist was also killed in the same area. \u201cIn the continued operations under OpTrashi-in Kishtwar, troops of CIF(D) #WhiteKnightCorps, in coordination with @ JammuandKashmirPolice and #CRPF neutralized the third terrorist. The remains and the weapon of the terrorist have been recovered. The pursuit continues\u2014no space, no sanctuary for those who seek to undermine stability.\u201d<\/p>\n
Pertinently, Operation Trashi-I, was launched in January this year, it has focused on flushing out terrorists from the mountainous pockets of Kishtwar district, including Chatroo, Sonnar, Dolgam and Dichhar. Multiple cordon-and-search operations have been conducted in these areas over the past weeks.<\/p>\n
