{"id":14596,"date":"2026-03-13T19:17:14","date_gmt":"2026-03-13T19:17:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kashmirthunder.in\/?p=14596"},"modified":"2026-03-13T19:17:14","modified_gmt":"2026-03-13T19:17:14","slug":"jk-govt-to-overhaul-rules-for-class-iv-jobs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kashmirthunder.in\/index.php\/2026\/03\/13\/jk-govt-to-overhaul-rules-for-class-iv-jobs\/","title":{"rendered":"J&#038;K Govt to overhaul rules for class IV jobs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>High-level panel to revisit qualifications, recruitment process; 12351 MTS vacancies in depts<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Jammu, Mar 13: In a significant move, the Jammu and Kashmir Government has decided to review the rules governing the appointment of Class IV employees, commonly referred to as multi-tasking staff.<\/p>\n<p>To initiate the process, as per the news agency\u2014Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the government has constituted a high-level committee under the chairmanship of the Administrative Secretary, Finance Department. The committee also includes the Administrative Secretary, General Administration Department; Administrative Secretary, Skill Development Department; and Administrative Secretary, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Department.<\/p>\n<p>The committee has been mandated to review the statutory order issued by the General Administration Department on January 29, 2022, which re-designated all \u201cClass IV\u201d jobs in Jammu and Kashmir as \u201cMultitasking Staff (MTS),\u201d except sanitation workers and posts requiring technical qualifications.<\/p>\n<p>It has also been tasked with reviewing relevant statutes to suggest appropriate measures regarding the recruitment of Multitasking Staff by recruiting agencies.<\/p>\n<p>The committee will examine the minimum and maximum qualification criteria and recommend the provision of specific qualifications or skill tests to ensure the recruitment of manpower suited to departmental needs.<\/p>\n<p>As per existing rules, the minimum qualification for Class IV jobs is matriculation (10th pass), while the maximum qualification is 12th pass (10+2). Candidates with higher qualifications are not eligible for these posts.<\/p>\n<p>The move comes at a time when 12351 posts of multi-tasking staff are vacant in government departments. Apart from these posts, 3808 gazetted posts and 24507 non-gazetted posts are also lying vacant in J&amp;K.
