They said every petrol pump in Batmaloo witnessed heavy rush, with people waiting for hours to get petrol,\u201d a witness said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere was an unusual rush. People were not just filling vehicles but also stocking fuel in containers, fearing shortages,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Another commuter said panic spread quickly across areas. \u201cAs soon as rumours spread, people rushed to pumps. Within hours, queues became very long,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Anshul Garg later in the day dismissed the rumours and assured that there is \u2018no shortage of fuel or essential commodities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cStocks are adequate and are being continuously monitored. There is no need to panic.
