{"id":15913,"date":"2026-04-01T01:27:13","date_gmt":"2026-04-01T01:27:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kashmirthunder.in\/?p=15913"},"modified":"2026-04-01T01:27:13","modified_gmt":"2026-04-01T01:27:13","slug":"govt-to-prioritise-recruitment-to-fill-up-vacancies-in-depts-omar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kashmirthunder.in\/index.php\/2026\/04\/01\/govt-to-prioritise-recruitment-to-fill-up-vacancies-in-depts-omar\/","title":{"rendered":"Govt to prioritise recruitment to fill up vacancies in depts: Omar"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Jammu, Mar 31: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday informed the House that as many as 48,958 non-gazetted and 10,217 gazetted posts\u2014across both direct recruitment and promotion quotas\u2014are lying vacant in 38 government departments.<\/p>\n<p>He was replying to a question raised by MLA Pulwama Waheed ur Rehman Para during the Question Hour of the ongoing Budget Session of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly.<\/p>\n<p>Omar stated that under the direct recruitment quota, 24,507 non-gazetted and 3,808 gazetted posts are vacant, while under the promotion quota, 24,451 non-gazetted and 6,409 gazetted posts remain unfilled across these departments.<\/p>\n<p>The Chief Minister further informed that, at the district level, a total of 16,812 non-gazetted and 2,798 gazetted posts are vacant across all 20 districts of Jammu and Kashmir.<\/p>\n<p>He added that during the previous year (2025), 959 gazetted vacancies were referred to the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission, while 6,340 non-gazetted posts were referred to the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board for recruitment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jammu, Mar 31: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday informed the House that as many as 48,958 non-gazetted and 10,217 gazetted posts\u2014across both direct recruitment and promotion quotas\u2014are lying vacant in 38 government departments.
