{"id":16275,"date":"2026-04-04T00:39:07","date_gmt":"2026-04-04T00:39:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kashmirthunder.in\/?p=16275"},"modified":"2026-04-04T00:39:07","modified_gmt":"2026-04-04T00:39:07","slug":"new-kashmir-emerging-aiios-chief-ilyasi-credits-post-article-370-changes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kashmirthunder.in\/index.php\/2026\/04\/04\/new-kashmir-emerging-aiios-chief-ilyasi-credits-post-article-370-changes\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018New Kashmir emerging\u2019: AIIO\u2019s chief Ilyasi credits post-article 370 changes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Says peace, dev, tourism visible on ground<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Calls Valley \u2018crown of India\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Urges people to visit &amp; witness changing realities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Srinagar, Apr 03: Chief Imam of the All-India Imam Organization (AIIO), Umer Ahmed Ilyasi, on Friday described Kashmir as a \u201cnew and progressing region.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Talking to reporters during his visit to the Valley, Ilyasi, as per the news agency\u2014Kashmir News Observer (KNO), termed Kashmir as \u2018crown of India,\u2019 and said, \u201cVisible changes on the ground reflect peace and development in the years following the abrogation of Article 370.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ilyasi said that Jammu and Kashmir is witnessing a phase of transformation marked by improved conditions and a sense of normalcy.<\/p>\n<p>He credited the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for what he described as a shift towards a \u201cbetter and new India.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe happiness and progress being seen in Kashmir today are commendable. This is a new Kashmir, a reflection of a changing India,\u201d Ilyasi said, adding that tourism has also seen an increase in the recent years.<\/p>\n<p>Referring to the situation on the ground, he said that people should visit Kashmir to witness the changes themselves. \u201cThere was fear in the past, but today there is peace and development. I appeal to people from across the country to come and see Kashmir,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Ilyasi while referring to the Pahalgam terror attack said, \u201cSuch events may create temporary fear but do not define the overall situation. The atmosphere today reflects progress and stability.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>During his visit, Ilyasi said he also visited the revered Hazratbal Shrine, where he appreciated the facilities and overall management, calling it a \u201cmodel place of worship.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The cleric also touched upon the impact of past unrest, stating that the region is moving towards stability. \u201cThe youth who were once caught in cycles of violence are now moving towards education and progress. This is a positive sign,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Referring to regional dynamics, he urged neighbouring countries to take note of India\u2019s development trajectory while reiterating that peace remains essential, he said, \u201cWar is not a solution.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Terming Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) as an \u201cintegral part of India\u201d , Ilyasi said the people there are closely observing the developments in Kashmir.<\/p>\n<p>He said the progress in the Valley has generated interest among residents across the Line of Control. \u201cWar brings destruction,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKashmir is integral to India\u2019s identity and the developments in the region should serve as an example of progress driven by peace,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>The Chief Imam further called for continued harmony and development, expressing hope that the current phase of progress in Kashmir will strengthen further in the coming years.
