Budgam, April 08: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Athar Aamir Khan Wednesday visited Srinagar International Airport Humhama, to review the arrangements put in place for the smooth dispatch of Hajj pilgrims 2026, scheduled to commence 18th of\u00a0 this month, and also assessed preparedness for the upcoming Shri Amarnath ji yatra (SANJY) 2026.<\/p>\n
During the visit, the DC conducted a comprehensive inspection of facilities available for pilgrims and passengers.<\/p>\n
He reviewed arrangements related to clean drinking water, medical facilities, refreshment counters, volunteer assistance, traffic regulation within and outside the airport premises, immigration processes, baggage handling systems, Zam Zam water storage etc.<\/p>\n
Emphasis was laid on ensuring seamless coordination among departments for efficient passenger management and timely facilitation.<\/p>\n
While reviewing the arrangements for Hajj pilgrims, the DC stressed the need for maintaining high standards of hygiene, adequate seating, proper guidance mechanisms, and hassle-free movement of pilgrims from entry points to boarding areas.<\/p>\n
He underscored the importance of deploying sufficient manpower and ensuring round-the-clock assistance for elderly and special-needs pilgrims.<\/p>\n
On the Occasion, the DC also reviewed the preparedness for SANJY\u20132026, focusing on coordination among stakeholder departments, logistical readiness, and facilitation measures for pilgrims expected during the Yatra period.<\/p>\n
He highlighted the importance of proactive planning, effective traffic management, and public convenience to ensure smooth conduct of the pilgrimage.<\/p>\n
The DC reiterated the need for close inter-departmental coordination and continuous monitoring to ensure that all arrangements are executed efficiently and in a timely manner for the convenience of pilgrims.<\/p>\n
