{"id":17760,"date":"2026-04-23T00:43:10","date_gmt":"2026-04-23T00:43:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kashmirthunder.in\/?p=17760"},"modified":"2026-04-23T00:43:10","modified_gmt":"2026-04-23T00:43:10","slug":"ganderbal-gears-up-for-civil-defence-mock-drill","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kashmirthunder.in\/index.php\/2026\/04\/23\/ganderbal-gears-up-for-civil-defence-mock-drill\/","title":{"rendered":"Ganderbal gears up for Civil Defence mock drill"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">GANDERBAL, APRIL 22: In preparation for the Civil Defence Air Raid and Blackout Mock Exercise scheduled for Thursday, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Ganderbal, Syed Faheem Bihaqi, on Wednesday chaired a comprehensive review meeting to finalise arrangements for the upcoming drill.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The meeting, as per an official statement, brought together senior officers from various departments to coordinate logistics, personnel deployment, and emergency response protocols.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During the deliberations, it was decided that the mock drill, simulating an air raid scenario, will be conducted at Government Degree College Ganderbal as the primary target site.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The exercise will include a simulated blackout across the district. The Executive Engineer, KPDCL, has been directed to ensure shutdown of electricity supply upon the designated signal to be issued by the PCR.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) has been tasked with leading the air raid simulation and will deploy necessary equipment. First Responder Teams (FRTs) will manage on-ground operations, while ambulances will facilitate the evacuation of simulated casualties to the District Hospital.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) has been directed to deploy an ambulance at the venue along with necessary staff and to oversee all medical arrangements. Doctors and paramedical staff will be stationed at the District Hospital to ensure prompt response.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Volunteers trained by SDRF, along with NCC cadets, will also be mobilised to support the exercise. The District Youth Services and Sports Officer has been tasked with ensuring their participation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Traffic Police have been instructed to keep the designated corridor clear to facilitate smooth movement during the drill.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Later, the ADC also reviewed arrangements for a cyclothon scheduled to be held on April 24, from Clock Tower to GCOPE Gadoora. The event will be flagged off at 7:00 AM and is expected to witness participation from a large number of people.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The District Youth Services and Sports Officer has been nominated as the Nodal Officer for the cyclothon.
