{"id":18010,"date":"2026-04-25T00:46:29","date_gmt":"2026-04-25T00:46:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kashmirthunder.in\/?p=18010"},"modified":"2026-04-25T00:46:29","modified_gmt":"2026-04-25T00:46:29","slug":"workers-welfare-key-to-nations-growth-union-minister","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kashmirthunder.in\/index.php\/2026\/04\/25\/workers-welfare-key-to-nations-growth-union-minister\/","title":{"rendered":"Workers\u2019 welfare key to nation\u2019s growth: Union Minister"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Inaugurates ESIC Hospital in Budgam<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Budgam, Apr 24: Asserting that workers\u2019 welfare is key to nation\u2019s growth, Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Friday said that the country\u2019s development depends largely on the contribution of its workforce.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing the inaugural function of a 30-bedded ESIC hospital at Ompora, the Minister, according to the news agency\u2014Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said, \u201cThe government is committed to strengthening the welfare of labourers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mandaviya said that the hospital, set up under the Employees State Insurance Corporation scheme, will provide affordable and quality treatment to insured workers.<\/p>\n<p>He said the number of people covered under ESIC has increased significantly over the years, growing from around 7 crore beneficiaries in 2014 to nearly 14 crore at present.<\/p>\n<p>Highlighting the importance of accessible healthcare, Mandaviya said labourers often face financial challenges in getting proper treatment, which affects their families as well.<\/p>\n<p>He said that several schemes have been introduced to provide medical support ranging from Re 1 to Rs 1 crore.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister also announced that a nursing college will be established at the hospital in the coming time, along with training facilities to strengthen healthcare services in the area.<\/p>\n<p>Referring to sports development, he said the government is working to provide better opportunities for youth and is committed to India\u2019s preparations for hosting the 2036 Olympics.
