New Delhi, May 03: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday congratulated young scientists and engineers at GalaxEye for building Mission Drishti, described as the world’s first OptoSAR satellite combining optical cameras and all-weather radar.<\/p>\n
Bengaluru-based space start-up GalaxEye’s Mission Drishti satellite was launched on Sunday aboard Falcon 9, developed by SpaceX, from California (US).<\/p>\n
In a post on X, Shah said, “Congratulations to our young scientists and engineers at @GalaxEye for building Mission Drishti, the world’s first OptoSAR satellite combining optical cameras and all-weather radar.”<\/p>\n
Mission Drishti is the world’s first OptoSAR satellite, integrating electro-optical (EO) and synthetic aperture radar (SAR) sensors into a single operational platform, according to the company.<\/p>\n
He said the launch of India’s largest privately built satellite would transform how the Earth is observed and highlight the capabilities of the country’s youth on the global stage.<\/p>\n
