Hails Army\u2019s pivotal role in establishing peace in UT<\/strong><\/p>\n

Reiterates \u2018Operation Sindoor\u2019 not over yet<\/strong><\/p>\n

Srinagar, Oct 24: Stating that post abrogation of Article 370 the streets of Jammu and Kashmir are filled with hope instead of unrest, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday lauded the army for playing a pivotal role in establishing peace in the Union Territory.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the ongoing Army Commanders\u2019 Conference in Jaisalmer, Rajnath Singh, according to the news agency\u2014Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said, \u201cPM Modi\u2019s historical move to abrogate Article 370 integrated J&K with the rest of the country. Post-abrogation, the streets of the region are now filled with hope instead of unrest.\u201d<\/p>\n

He said that people of J&K are confident about their future being secure. \u201cThey have become the masters of their own destiny as the decision-making lies in their own hands,\u201d Singh said.<\/p>\n

The Defence Minister said that Army has been a pillar of peace in Jammu and Kashmir and has played a crucial role in establishing peace in the region.<\/p>\n

Describing Operation Sindoor as an embodiment of India\u2019s military prowess and national character, Singh said that it was a demonstration by the soldiers that their strength lies not only in weapons, but also in their ethical discipline and strategic clarity. \u201cOperation Sindoor will go down in history as not just a military operation, but also a symbol of the nation\u2019s courage and restraint. The action taken by our forces against terrorists was in keeping with both policy precision and human dignity. The operation isn\u2019t over. Our mission for peace will continue as long as even a single terrorist mindset remains alive,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The Minister also noted that the action taken by the Indian Armed Forces against terrorists during Operation Sindoor reflected both policy precision and respect for human dignity.<\/p>\n

He stated that the action has given rise to a new strategic thinking that India responds to any terrorist activity on its own terms. \u201cThis is New India\u2019s Defence Doctrine, which embodies both resolve and courage,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Referring to the recent de-escalation process in the eastern Ladakh areas of Demchok and Depsang following a series of talks between India and China on October 24, the Defence Minister said that the ongoing dialogue and de- escalation steps have demonstrated India\u2019s balanced and firm foreign policy. \u201cOur policy is clear that there will be dialogue and our readiness on the border will remain intact,\u201d he said.
