{"id":22177,"date":"2026-06-11T01:39:51","date_gmt":"2026-06-11T01:39:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kashmirthunder.in\/?p=22177"},"modified":"2026-06-11T01:39:51","modified_gmt":"2026-06-11T01:39:51","slug":"new-vande-bharat-stoppage-announced-at-anantnag-after-cm-railway-min-meet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kashmirthunder.in\/index.php\/2026\/06\/11\/new-vande-bharat-stoppage-announced-at-anantnag-after-cm-railway-min-meet\/","title":{"rendered":"New Vande Bharat stoppage announced at Anantnag after CM, Railway Min meet"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Centre committed to J&amp;K dev: Vaishnaw<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Rail network boosting economy: Omar<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Srinagar, Jun 10: Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Wednesday announced a new commercial stoppage of the Jammu-Srinagar Vande Bharat Express at Anantnag following a meeting with Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in New Delhi.<\/p>\n<p>According to a statement issued to the news agency\u2014Kashmir News Observer (KNO) the meeting focused on ongoing and future railway projects aimed at strengthening connectivity and accelerating economic growth in Jammu and Kashmir.<\/p>\n<p>The statement said the decision to introduce a stoppage at Anantnag will benefit commuters, tourists and traders by providing improved access to one of Kashmir&#8217;s key economic and cultural centres.<\/p>\n<p>During the meeting, Omar Abdullah appreciated the initiatives of Indian Railways in J&amp;K and said the Vande Bharat service has transformed travel between Jammu and Srinagar by reducing travel time and offering enhanced comfort.<\/p>\n<p>He also highlighted the role of the railway network in facilitating the movement of freight, including apples, cherries and cement, thereby helping local farmers and businesses access wider markets.<\/p>\n<p>The Railway Minister, as per the statement, reiterated the Government of India&#8217;s commitment to the development of Jammu and Kashmir and said the Anantnag stoppage reflects the government&#8217;s efforts to address local aspirations through improved infrastructure and connectivity.
