The same was also attended virtually by employees stationed at the Jammu Secretariat through video conferencing.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During the solemn ceremony, the civil servants pledged to dedicate themselves to preserving the unity, integrity, and security of the nation, and to spread this message among fellow citizens.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They also resolved to contribute actively towards ensuring internal security and strengthening the spirit of national unity in their respective spheres of work.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pertinently, National Unity Day is observed every year to commemorate the immense contribution of India\u2019s first Home Minister, Sardar\u00a0 Vallabhbhai Patel, in the unification of the nation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0The day celebrates Patel\u2019s monumental efforts in integrating more than 560 princely states into the Indian Union after independence, thereby laying the foundation of a united and strong India.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This year\u2019s observance also marks the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, whose vision, leadership, and steadfast commitment continue to inspire the nation to uphold peace, integrity, and unity.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 31:\u00a0On the eve of the 12th National Unity Day, Chief Secretary, Atal Dulloo Friday administered the \u2018Unity Pledge\u2019 to officers and officials of the Civil Secretariat here.
