ANANTNAG, AUGUST 13: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Anantnag, under the guidance of the Chairman, Tahir Khurshid Raina, inaugurated a Volleyball Tournament for the inmates of District Jail Anantnag in collaboration with the Department of Youth Services and Sports, Anantnag.<\/p>\n
The tournament was aimed at promoting sportsmanship, physical fitness, discipline, team spirit and positive engagement among the jail inmates, besides providing them an opportunity for recreation and healthy interaction.<\/p>\n
The tournament was kick-started by the Secretary, DLSA Anantnag Mir Sayeem Qayoom, in the presence of the Jail Superintendent , officials of the Department of Youth Services and Sports, DLSA staff, PLVs and participating inmates.<\/p>\n
\u00a0The Secretary interacted with the inmates and encouraged them to actively participate in sports and other constructive activities.<\/p>\n
The officials from the Department of Youth Services and Sports extended their cooperation in conducting the tournament and provided the necessary technical and sporting support. The inmates participated enthusiastically and displayed commendable sportsmanship, discipline and team spirit throughout the event.<\/p>\n
The initiative reflects the commitment of DLSA Anantnag towards the welfare, rehabilitation and holistic development of persons in custody, in accordance with the principles of dignity, reform and social reintegration.<\/p>\n
