Jammu, Aug 18: Security forces on Tuesday launched search operations at several locations in Udhampur and Reasi districts following reports of suspicious movement.<\/p>\n
Official sources told the news agency\u2014Kashmir News Observer (KNO) the joint teams of the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the CRPF launched a cordon-and-search operation in Talot village of Udhampur after receiving information about the suspected movement of some persons in the area last night.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, security forces also conducted a search operation in the Sadini forests of Pouni in Reasi district following reports of suspicious movement. \u201cThe operations were launched as a precautionary measure to verify the inputs and ensure the safety and security of the local population. Security personnel are maintaining a close vigil and thoroughly checking vulnerable areas,\u201d said an official.<\/p>\n
The forces have intensified surveillance in the areas and are continuing the searches to rule out any suspicious presence, he added.<\/p>\n
Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Udhampur-Reasi Range, Shiv Kumar Sharma said: \u201cSecurity forces are acting promptly on the inputs received from villagers and are maintaining a close vigil to ensure public safety. The operation is continuing.\u201d<\/p>\n
