{"id":28525,"date":"2026-08-21T01:32:19","date_gmt":"2026-08-21T01:32:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kashmirthunder.in\/?p=28525"},"modified":"2026-08-21T01:32:19","modified_gmt":"2026-08-21T01:32:19","slug":"pak-us-row-matter-between-islamabad-washington-not-mine-cm-omar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kashmirthunder.in\/index.php\/2026\/08\/21\/pak-us-row-matter-between-islamabad-washington-not-mine-cm-omar\/","title":{"rendered":"Pak-US row matter between Islamabad-Washington, not mine: CM Omar"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Says Rs 31-cr Sgr abattoir revived; AIIMS block may open this year<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2018Pvt universities likely soon; film festival to promote local talent\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Srinagar, Aug 20: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday said Pakistan\u2019s summoning of the US Charge d\u2019Affaires following his meeting with the American envoy was a matter between Pakistan and the United States.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to reporters in Srinagar, CM Omar as per the news agency\u2014Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said that Pakistan had summoned the US Charge d\u2019Affaires, not the US Ambassador. \u201cThe issue concerns Pakistan and the United States. I have nothing to do with it,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Responding to questions on the Congress party\u2019s remarks, the Chief Minister said the party is entitled to its political viewpoint and he doesn\u2019t want to get into a \u201cwar of words\u201d over the issue.<\/p>\n<p>On the modern abattoir, the Chief Minister said the project was initially conceived in 2011-12 but got stalled for various reasons. \u201cIt stands revived by the Srinagar Municipal Corporation and is expected to be completed within one-and-a-half years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said the facility would ensure proper disease testing of sheep and halal certification before meat reaches the market. He said the administration also intends to revive the earlier system of inspection and stamping of meat.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhenever meat is sold in Srinagar, it should carry a market-authorised stamp so that people know it meets quality standards,\u201d CM Omar said.<\/p>\n<p>On the international film festival, the Chief Minister said its purpose is not merely to bring Bollywood or Hollywood personalities to Kashmir, but also to expose local audiences to diverse cinema and create opportunities for local talent.<\/p>\n<p>He said workshops in editing, directing, cinematography and music would be organised to help local technicians develop skills and reduce dependence on professionals from outside when films are shot in Jammu and Kashmir.<\/p>\n<p>On AIIMS, CM Omar said construction work is progressing rapidly and expressed hope that one of its blocks would become operational this year, with OPD and some other treatment facilities beginning services.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding the proposed Law University, he said the varsity would be established and discussions were underway regarding its location. The file, he said is almost ready and would require the necessary approvals.<\/p>\n<p>The Chief Minister also said one or two private universities are expected to come to Jammu and Kashmir in the coming weeks, adding that the government had finalised and will release rules following the passage of the relevant Act during the Budget Session.<\/p>\n<p>He added the process for setting up private universities had now begun and foundation stones for some projects could be laid soon.
