{"id":28635,"date":"2026-08-22T19:04:27","date_gmt":"2026-08-22T19:04:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kashmirthunder.in\/?p=28635"},"modified":"2026-08-22T19:04:27","modified_gmt":"2026-08-22T19:04:27","slug":"dc-doda-reviews-mining-plans-for-quarry-sites","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kashmirthunder.in\/index.php\/2026\/08\/22\/dc-doda-reviews-mining-plans-for-quarry-sites\/","title":{"rendered":"DC Doda reviews mining plans for quarry sites"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">DODA, AUGUST 22: Deputy Commissioner Krishan Lal Saturday chaired a meeting at DC Office Doda to deliberate upon and review mining plans and progressive mine closure plans for two quarry sites in the district.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The meeting discussed the Mining Plan and Progressive Mine Closure Plan for a quarry licence at Village Kandhote, Tehsil Thathri, as well as the Revised Mining Plan and Progressive Mine Closure Plan for the quarry site at Moza Chadota, Jattar, Tehsil Assar.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Office of the District Mineral Officer, Doda, Geology and Mining Department convened the meeting, with the departments concerned participating in the deliberations and providing necessary inputs and relevant records.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During the meeting, the officers concerned examined the proposed and revised mining plans, focussing on compliance with applicable rules and regulations, scientific and regulated mineral extraction, environmental safeguards and progressive mine closure measures.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Deputy Commissioner stressed that mining activities must be carried out in a regulated, transparent and environmentally responsible manner, with strict adherence to all statutory requirements. He directed the officers concerned to ensure that all necessary approvals and clearances, including Environmental Clearance, Change of Land Use (CLU) permission, NOCs and Consent to Operate (CTO), besides other mandatory clearances wherever applicable, are obtained before the commencement of any mining activity.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The DC further directed the departments concerned to review surveillance teams at the Tehsil level for regular monitoring of mining activities and to maintain close vigil over vulnerable locations to prevent violations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He also called for strict action against illegal mining and the unauthorised extraction and transportation of minor minerals, directing the officers concerned to conduct regular inspections and act against violators under the applicable rules and regulations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Among those present were ADC Anil Kumar Thakur, ACD Din Mohammad Afaqi, the Member Secretary, Geology and Mining Department, Jammu, the Executive Engineer, I&amp;FC, the EO Municipality and other officers concerned.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>DODA, AUGUST 22: Deputy Commissioner Krishan Lal Saturday chaired a meeting at DC Office Doda to deliberate upon and review mining plans and progressive mine closure plans for two quarry sites in the district.
