{"id":2917,"date":"2025-11-03T18:11:46","date_gmt":"2025-11-03T18:11:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kashmirthunder.in\/?p=2917"},"modified":"2025-11-03T18:11:46","modified_gmt":"2025-11-03T18:11:46","slug":"bjp-reacts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kashmirthunder.in\/index.php\/2025\/11\/03\/bjp-reacts\/","title":{"rendered":"BJP reacts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Srinagar, Nov 03:\u00a0<\/strong>Moments after police registered a case and initiated a probe into the controversy surrounding the Indian Heaven Premier League (IHPL) T20 in Srinagar, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday sought answers from the government, terming the episode a \u201csetback\u201d for budding cricketers in Jammu and Kashmir.<\/p>\n<p>BJP spokesperson Altaf Thakur, speaking to reporters said that the recent controversy has once again highlighted the dismal state of cricket affairs in the region, alleging that \u201cfrequent irregularities and mismanagement\u201d have become common since political changes in the region.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFollowing recent political transitions, cricket in Jammu and Kashmir has suffered repeated setbacks, particularly under the National Conference government,\u201d Thakur said while speaking to the media.<\/p>\n<p>He added that they want to ask the Sports Minister of J&amp;K about the current situation of cricket in the Union Territory. \u201cIt directly concerns the future of our local youth who are turning to the sport with hope. The government\u2019s actions are putting their future at risk,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He urged the administration to ensure a transparent investigation into the IHPL matter, stressing that accountability must be fixed \u201cto restore confidence among young players and the sports community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Commenting on the Darbar Move to Jammu, Thakur said, \u201cThe Chief Minister alone cannot move the Darbar unless the Lieutenant Governor permits it.
