{"id":29876,"date":"2026-09-09T01:17:55","date_gmt":"2026-09-09T01:17:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kashmirthunder.in\/?p=29876"},"modified":"2026-09-09T01:17:55","modified_gmt":"2026-09-09T01:17:55","slug":"7-sittings-in-10-day-autumn-session-of-jk-assembly","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kashmirthunder.in\/index.php\/2026\/09\/09\/7-sittings-in-10-day-autumn-session-of-jk-assembly\/","title":{"rendered":"7 sittings in 10\u2011day autumn session of J&#038;K Assembly"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>In break from tradition, no adjournment after obituary references<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>4 days for Govt Business<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Srinagar, Sep 08: The upcoming 10\u2011day autumn session of the Jammu &amp; Kashmir Legislative Assembly will be spread over seven sittings, the provisional calendar issued by the Assembly Secretariat on Tuesday revealed.<\/p>\n<p>According to the calendar released by the Assembly secretariat, a copy of which is in possession of news agency\u2014Kashmir News Observer (KNO), September 21 has been earmarked for obituary references and Government business.<\/p>\n<p>The Assembly Secretariat\u2019s decision to conduct Government business on the same day that obituary references are read out for former legislators who passed away since the last session marks a departure from past practice. Traditionally, the House was adjourned for the day after obituary references.<\/p>\n<p>In a practice like Lok Sabha, the Assembly will now pay obituary tributes and then proceed with regular Government business on the same day.<\/p>\n<p>According to the calendar, September 22, 29 and 30 (if need arises) have been reserved for Government Business.<\/p>\n<p>The Assembly secretariat has scheduled September 24 and 28 for Private Member Bills and September 25 for Private Member Resolutions.<\/p>\n<p>The House will not assemble on September 23, 26 and 27.
