{"id":3256,"date":"2025-11-06T18:45:03","date_gmt":"2025-11-06T18:45:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kashmirthunder.in\/?p=3256"},"modified":"2025-11-06T18:45:03","modified_gmt":"2025-11-06T18:45:03","slug":"govt-launches-cms-scheme-for-introduction-of-heritage-courses","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kashmirthunder.in\/index.php\/2025\/11\/06\/govt-launches-cms-scheme-for-introduction-of-heritage-courses\/","title":{"rendered":"Govt launches CM&#8217;s Scheme for introduction of heritage courses"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Revival of 7 heritage craft courses proposed in 15 ITIs, polytechnics<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Srinagar, Nov 06: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir, led by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, has approved the \u201cChief Minister\u2019s Scheme for Introduction of Heritage Courses\u201d aimed at preserving and promoting the rich traditional crafts of J&amp;K through structured vocational education.<\/p>\n<p>As per the Government Order issued by the Department of Skill Development, sanction has been accorded for the continuation and revival of seven heritage craft courses across 25 units with a total intake capacity of 500 students\u201420 students per unit\u2014across 15 Government ITIs and Polytechnics in Jammu and Kashmir.<\/p>\n<p>Under the scheme, students enrolled in these courses will receive a monthly stipend of \u20b91,000, while instructors conducting theory and practical classes will be paid a monthly remuneration of \u20b915,000 and \u20b912,000, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative, approved by the Council of Ministers in its meeting chaired by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah was held on October 15, 2025. The decision underscores the government\u2019s commitment to safeguarding traditional skills, encouraging youth participation in heritage-linked livelihoods, and integrating local crafts into modern skill development frameworks.<\/p>\n<p>Commenting on the contours of the scheme, the Chief Minister said the initiative reflects the government\u2019s commitment to preserving Jammu and Kashmir\u2019s centuries-old craftsmanship while creating new avenues of employment for the youth. \u201cOur heritage crafts are not only a reflection of our cultural identity but also a source of dignified livelihood.
