Tourists enjoy season’s first snowfall, stakeholders pin hopes on winter rush<\/strong><\/p>\n

Srinagar, Oct 13: Fresh snowfall in the upper reaches of Gulmarg has delighted tourists and raised hopes for a strong winter tourism season, with stakeholders expecting a surge in visitors to the famous ski resort in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.<\/p>\n

The Affarwat slopes, home to the iconic Gulmarg Gondola, received fresh snowfall on Tuesday, draping the mountains in white and offering visitors an early glimpse of the region’s winter charm.<\/p>\n

Tourists were seen enjoying the snowfall, taking photographs and soaking in the snow-covered landscape.<\/p>\n

“We are lucky to witness this,” a group of tourists from Delhi told news agency\u2014Kashmir News Observer (KNO).<\/p>\n

The snowfall has also boosted optimism among tourism stakeholders, who believe it could help build momentum for the upcoming winter season and encourage more travellers to choose Gulmarg as a holiday destination.<\/p>\n

“Snowfall is one of the biggest attractions for tourists visiting Gulmarg during winter. It creates excitement among visitors and raises expectations for the season ahead,” said Shaista, a tourism stakeholder.<\/p>\n

Stakeholders expect a strong tourist influx in the coming months, benefiting hoteliers, transport operators, guides, pony owners, shopkeepers and others associated with the tourism sector.<\/p>\n

Gulmarg Development Authority (GDA) Chief Executive Officer Alyas Ahmad Naisroo said all necessary arrangements are in place to welcome the anticipated winter rush.<\/p>\n

“We are fully prepared for the upcoming season and have made all essential arrangements to ensure a smooth and pleasant experience for tourists,” he said, expressing confidence that Gulmarg would witness a strong turnout this winter. (KNO)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
