New Delhi, Sep 09 (KNO): <\/b>Describing \u2018Operation Sindoor\u2019 as a model of military coordination involving soldiers, policymakers and industry, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi on Tuesday said India\u2019s security and economic growth depend on leadership, indigenous innovation and coordinated response to challenges.<\/p>\n
Speaking at the plenary session of the 52nd National Management Convention of the All-India Management Association here, General Diwivedi, according to the news agency\u2014Kashmir News Observer (KNO) while referring to \u2018Operation Sindoor\u2019, a four-day operation against terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan in May this year, said, \u201cWar is always unpredictable. We are not sure what kind of psychological impact a particular issue would make.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Army Chief said that dominance over land will remain the \u201ccurrency of victory\u201d in wars. “When you go back to the Alaska conference that took place between the two presidents, they just discussed how much land has to exchange hands,” Dwivedi said, referring to last month\u2019s summit talks between US President Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in Alaska on the Ukraine conflict.<\/p>\n
\u201cLand remains the currency of victory, especially with India\u2019s two-and-a-half front threat,\u201d he said, adding, \u201cLow-cost, high-technology systems can beat back a superior adversary. David versus Goliath is real in modern warfare.\u201d<\/p>\n
General Diwivedi said that the Indian Army is pursuing \u201cspiral development\u201d of both equipment and organisations, backed by over Rs 26,000 crore in capital procurement and about Rs 60,000 crore in revenue procurement. \u201cNew brigades and battalions called Rudra, Bhairav, and Shaktiban (an artillery regiment) are equipped with Indian systems,\u201d he said, adding, \u201cMultiple suppliers will be involved in indigenisation of defence manufacturing. The Army works with Indian Institutes of Technology and the Indian Institute of Science in Bengaluru for innovation in military tools and materials.\u201d<\/p>\n
