Kangri is Here"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Srinagar, Nov 17:\u00a0<\/strong>With winter setting in and a sharp chill in the air, the age-old Kashmiri firepot, locally known as the \u2018Kangri\u2019, has made its comeback and appearance on the streets and in homes across the valley.<\/p>\n<p>At Srinagar\u2019s bustling markets, vendors have begun stacking up colourful Kangris woven from wicker and clay. For many, it is a symbol of warmth and tradition.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is our season. Once the mercury drops, Kangri becomes a necessity again,\u201d Abdul Rashid, a vendor from Budgam said.<\/p>\n<p>The Kangri finds its way into every household, as it is tucked beneath pherans to keep the chill at bay, Rashid said, adjusting his display of woven baskets.<\/p>\n<p>Shoppers, bundled in woollens, were seen haggling over prices, examining designs and testing the heat of freshly fired Kangris.
